Cardiff and Newport

Tiny Rebel are an award winning brewery based in Rogerston, Newport. They started out from humble beginnings in a small garage and have rapidly grown, developing a bespoke brewery with the capacity to brew 5 million litres of beer a year. They are the only Welsh brewery to win Champion beer of Britain and also have bars in the centre of Cardiff and Newport.

I spent 3 days with the marketing team visiting each site, creating product, food and drink photography using portable Profoto lighting for use on their new website.

The Tiny Rebel story is pretty incredible! In 2012, brothers-in-law Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams founded the Tiny Rebel Brewing Company in Newport. Despite being a relatively young company, they have experienced tremendous growth over the past 6 years. Their turnover has reached approx £10m annually and they currently employ 120 people.

The company unveiled a new state-of-the-art brewery and visitor centre in Rogerstone, where they serve their craft beer directly to the public, have weekly tours and tastings, and brew their beer. Tiny Rebel has won several prestigious brewing awards, including the Champion Beer of Britain award in 2015 for their Cwtch beer, and Brewery Business of the Year in 2016, as well as an overall Bronze award in the Champion Beer of Britain Awards in 2017.

Tiny Rebel's reach extends beyond the UK, with their products being exported to 35 countries around the world, which comprises almost 20% of their overall turnover. The company is also known for their philanthropic efforts, specifically their support for local charities, such as St David's Hospice Care, as well as their sponsorship of BAFTA Cymru and the Welsh Music Prize to promote the Welsh creative industries.
