Advertising and Campaign Photography

We’re very lucky in Cardiff to have 7 architecturally unique Victorian and Edwardian Arcades.

Wyndham, Castle, High Street, Duke Street, Royal, Morgan and Dominions Arcades have been attracting shoppers to Cardiff for over a century.

FOR Cardiff launched a campaign to raise the profile of the Arcades, increase footfall and establish Cardiff, firmly, as the City of Arcades.

Working with the team at Cowshed, I spent 5 days walking around the Arcades, meeting the independent shop owners, chewing the fat and buying their products (spent a fortune and ate lots of cake!). I shot the arcade architecture, portraits of the shop owners along with their products in a very relaxed, conversational style. A dream project from start to finish.

The advertising and campaign photography was used on the website, social media and a print based advertising campaign targeted to Cardiff, Newport, Bath and Bristol. The campaign won an award at the International Downtown Association at its 65th annual conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
