The Anstee family have been supplying the hospitality trade in South Wales with beers, wines and spirits since the early 1990s. Today they run Glamorgan Brewing Company from a modern brewery in Llantrisant, producing award-winning beers that have collected gold, silver and bronze medals from SIBA.

I spent two days with the team, learning about the brewery’s story and photographing the people behind the brand. The brief was to show not only the product but also the craft, the heritage and the sense of place. To achieve that, I photographed on location at Lanelay Hall in Talbot Green, the Boars Head in Pontyclun and at the brewery itself.

The aim was to reflect the warmth and character of Glamorgan Brewing in the imagery. The shoot covered styled product photography in hospitality settings, along with more candid images of the brewers at work. Pints around tables, beer being poured, and branded kegs stacked in the brewery all helped tell the wider story of a business that is rooted in its community but ambitious in reach.

The final images were used across the brewery’s website and social media channels to refresh their brand presence and strengthen consistency across campaigns. For a brewery that has built its reputation on quality and authenticity, the photography needed to feel genuine and approachable while polished enough for commercial use.

Working with Glamorgan Brewing was a reminder of why I enjoy photographing independent brands. The pride and care they put into their beer is the same spirit I aim to capture in my work: a visual story that connects the product with the people who make and enjoy it.
